Lead Software Engineer

We are currently looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Lead Software Engineer to join our professional services Software Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Who can lead and manage teams of Software engineers developing and mentoring their careers, maintaining and reviewing day to day activities for the team.
  • Liaison with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered to required specifications.
  • Resolving technical problems as they arise and Lead technical discussions and workshops on customer requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Resource management to ensure that projects are allocated correct skilled resource and maintain system to allow schedules for software teams to be created.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing bespoke software for customers, Leading other team members within projects.
  • Ensuring quality assurance processes are adhered to and adequate peer to peer testing completed.
  • Provide ongoing support as issues escalated by Sabio Support team: clearly identify issues, ascertain importance and priority, then provide troubleshooting and testing (may be remote or on-site) and/or escalate if necessary, providing a clear and thorough description of the issue to the relevant colleague.
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
  • Assessing the business impact that certain technical choices have.
  • Working with the continuous improvement lead in terms of improvement opportunities feeding a pipeline of work. 
  • Team line management experience preferred

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Experience in writing design documentation, method statements and user guides
  • Experience in creating clearly documented analysis, de-sign and test specifications
  • Knowledge of recognised development-related standards
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance / professional services arena.
  • C# .NET experience
  • Source Control disciplines (ideally Git)
  • JavaScript frontend frameworks (i.e. React, Vue etc.) and Node.js (not essential for non-frontend developers)
Beneficial
  • Reasonable technical knowledge of contact centre technologies.
  • Keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence
  • Comfortable with Agile methodology and running MVPs
  • Good grasp on secure by design principles
  • Unit testing
  • .NET Core experience
  • PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Databases experience (MSSQL, Postgres etc.)
  • Docker/Containers
  • Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP etc.)
  • WPF
  • Presentations skills
