ServiceNow Technical Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and technically capable individual to join an expanding operational team as the ServiceNow Technical Lead, reporting to the Head of Client Management Systems.  

The primary focus of this role will be to design, build and implement key platform changes that enable the business to drive significant value from the tool to support a customer centric business strategy.  

The role will entail transforming business requirements into technical solutions, utilising out of the box ServiceNow ITSM & CSM capabilities, as well as standard integrations with other systems, via ServiceNow’s Integration Hub and 3rd party IPaaS technologies.  Planning, estimating and sizing solutions is also a key requirement with a heavy focus on ensuring we protect our ability to upgrade the platform in a seamless manner 1 – 2 times per annum. 

To deliver successfully in this role you will be able to provide technical insights on the capabilities and best practices of the ServiceNow platform.  You will also be required to engage, demonstrate, and influence stakeholders in a consultative manner. You will need to collaborate cross functionally with other business areas within Sabio based on process and system ownership, as well as with third party system integrator consultancy services.
As the ServiceNow Technical Lead you will help mentor and develop junior team members on smaller implementation activities and contribute significantly to change initiatives around the Service Portal, Now Mobile, Virtual Agent, ServiceNow to ServiceNow ebonding requirements and other systems integration projects such as ServiceNow with Salesforce & JIRA.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties & Accountabilities:
  • Lead ServiceNow development across ServiceNow platform
  • Manage the development and release cycles including documentation and communications
  • Manage development projects in conjunction with 3rd party professional services consultants, with primary focus around systems integrations and Service Portal evolution and management. 
  • Input into the overall systems strategy and roadmap
  • Automate activities across the platform to reduce manual effort
  • Support BAU workload with technical solutions
  • Mentor and knowledge share with the junior team members
  • Collaborate across a wide range of stakeholders to build out stories and develop

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least 3 years’ experience working with ServiceNow ITSM in an admin and configuration capacity.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow CSM and ITOM Event Management would be highly advantageous.
  • Expert capabilities in using ServiceNow Integration Hub to implement ServiceNow to ServiceNow ebonding projects or similar. 
  • Knowledge of including but not necessarily limited to ebond spoke, remote instance spoke, salesforce spoke.
  • CMDB design and best practice experience.
  • Strong ServiceNow Portal experience, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • You will have demonstrable experience delivering software integration projects: ServiceNow to Salesforce & Jira.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or strong capabilities in any of the following: Flow Designer/Business Rule Scripting/REST/SOAP/JSON
  • Experience working in an Agile work environment.
  • You should be an excellent communicator with strong relationship/stakeholder management skills and have experience acting as an internal consultant.
  • Self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can add significant value.
