We are currently looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Senior HR & Talent Business Partner

The Senior HR & Talent Business Partner for South Africa plays a critical role in supporting an international business unit within a fast-growing, global organisation. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers, the HRBP delivers strategic and operational people solutions that enable business performance, drive cultural alignment, and support talent growth across the region.
 
This role combines generalist HR expertise with a strong focus on Talent Acquisition to ensure the business unit attracts, develops, and retains exceptional people. The HRBP will partner with global and regional People & Talent teams to embed best-practice HR processes, ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, and contribute to the delivery of international people strategies adapted to local needs.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering
  • Act as the primary HR contact for leaders and managers in South Africa, providing expert advice on organisational design, workforce planning, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Partner with global HR colleagues to implement people initiatives and ensure alignment with international frameworks while tailoring for local market needs.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment in partnership with hiring managers—sourcing, screening, selection, and onboarding—to meet headcount and capability needs.
  • Develop and execute proactive talent pipelines to support future business growth.
  • Drive employer branding initiatives in the South African market.
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Provide guidance on South African employment law, workplace policies, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution aligned with local legislation.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving labour law and ensure compliance across HR processes.
Performance, Development & Engagement
  • Support managers in embedding the performance management framework, providing coaching on objective setting, feedback, and talent reviews.
  • Partner with Learning & Development teams to identify skill gaps and enable career development pathways.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and diversity and inclusion.
HR Operations & Data
  • Manage HR processes and records in line with global standards and local requirements.
  • Leverage HR systems and data analytics to provide insight and inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to regional HR reporting and dashboards.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Strong generalist HR knowledge, ideally gained in a multinational or international environment.
  • Deep understanding of South African labour legislation and its practical application in a corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in Talent Acquisition (direct sourcing, employer branding, recruitment strategy).
  • Ability to build strong relationships with leaders and employees across multiple geographies.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and present insights.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and transformation projects.
  • High cultural awareness, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in a matrixed global organisation.
Technologies
  • HRIS systems (e.g., Iris Cascade, Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or similar).
  • ATS and recruitment platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Pinpoint, Greenhouse, or similar).
  • Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with collaboration and productivity tools in global businesses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in HR / Organisational Development (advantageous).
Certifications
  • South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) professional registration – preferred.
  • International HR or Talent certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, LinkedIn Talent Solutions) – advantageous.
